Plot & Turning Point

After winning the Hunger Games, Peeta and Katniss returns to District 12, which is the poorest district of them all. 6 months after they return to District 12 they have to go on a Victory Tour, and the day that this tour starts Katniss gets a surprise visit from President Snow and he is telling her that she has to convince him that she really loves Peeta by the end of the tour. She wont tell Peeta this because they haven’t really spoken since the return and she wants to handle it herself.

On the tour they are supposed to hold speeches in every district and when they come to the first district they are supposed to visit, which is District 11, they see how horrible they have it. Rue came from this district so an elderly man shows the sign and whistle the tones that Katniss did in the first Hunger Games. This makes the guards angry and they execute the man and two others.

When President Snow is announcing the 75^th Hunger Games he tells everybody that because it is a Quarter Quell they have different rules. This year previous winners have to go back in to the arena and fight again. And because District 12 only have 3 winners and Katniss is the only girl she has to go back in to the arena. I would consider this as the turning point in the book.
